New research has concluded that just one cigarette can adversely affect young adults, reports ScienceDaily, citing research presented by Dr. Stella Daskalopoulou at the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress 2009. A drug addict was on Thursday jailed for 18 months for allowing a three-year-old child to smoke a lit cigarette.
Newcastle Crown Court heard that 31-year-old Graeme Conroy encouraged the infant to inhale the smoke when she asked him for a cigarette.

Big tobacco: Is Ontario’s $46.6 billion suit hypocritical?
When 46 states agreed to a $246 billion out-of-court settlement to recover the costs of smoking-related illnesses, they joined the other four that had previously sued and won.
