Church Left in Ashes After Early Morning Fire
An investigation has been launched into an early Saturday morning church fire.
Around 3:09 Saturday morning, South Claiborne Volunteer Fire Department, Claiborne County EMS and officers with the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 3539 Goin Road.
When authorities arrived on the scene, Edward Community Church was fully involved and the structure had already collapsed.
Firefighters worked to get the flames out and were able to clear the scene just before 5:00 that morning.Claiborne Arson Task Force, the Bomb and Arson Division and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms opened a full investigation Monday.
They are working to interview members of the church and any possible witnesses to what may have happened that morning around the church to develop leads into solving this case.
At this time, the cause of the fire is still undetermined.
